Task 3: Design Challenge

The classic ‘Engineering Design Challenge’……….. The Ice Cream Stick Catapult!
We have used this task at staff PL, with students across a range of curriculum areas, visitng primary schools and parents on open night. It can be completed quickly, cheaply and nearly all participants experience success to some degree.

It is a succinct hands-on way to demonstrate the Engineering Design Process, with an emphasis on group collaboration and sharing of constructions at the end – The competition!
